This is our favorite bread! Yes, this is a large loaf but it disappears quickly!Kim’s Bread Recipe
1 pkg yeast
1 1/4 c warm water
1/4 c sugar
1/4 c oil
1 t salt
2 eggs
4 1/2 c flour
1/4 c butter, melted (pour over loaf before baking)
You can mix, knead, rise, knead, braid, rise and bake OR
I simply dump everything in my bread maker and turn on the DOUGH cycle. When it is finished, turn out onto pastry cloth and separate into thirds. Roll each one into a 12″ rope. Braid the 3 sections together, tucking each end under itself. Place on lightly oiled cookie sheet. Let it rise about 30 minutes. Pour melted butter over the top and bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
Wheat Variation
I changed the flour to 3 cups white 1 1/2 c whole wheat and divided the dough into 2 loaves. Bake 350 for 30 minutes (top should sound hollow when tapped)
