The girls wanted to make something this week, so using the tutorial from Blissfully Domestic, we chose pretzels.
FranticHomeCook’s Pretzel Recipe (she has more that I’m going to try!)
Mix until dissolved:
1 1/2 pkg yeast
1 1/2 c. warm water
2 T. brown sugar
1 t. salt
1 c. bread flour
3 c. all purpose flour
Knead until smooth, let rise 1/2 hour in oiled bowl
2 T. baking soda in 2 c. warm water.
Roll out dough and make 12-14 inch slices (I used the pizza cutter).
Dip the ropes into the water/soda and shape into pretzels. Or as the girls called them “loopy hearts”.
Brush with melted butter, sprinkle with kosher salt and bake 10 minutes at 450. Cool and consume!
